Butte Community Employment Center one-stops in Oroville and Chico provide hiring and training services, as well as workforce information and direct business assistance, all under one roof.
Employee Recruitment and Screening
Employers can post permanent and temporary job openings with the center as well as with America’s Job Bank. The one-stop provides interview facilities and screens to employers specification.
Tax Credits for Hiring New Employees
Companies can claim up $27,000 in state tax credits over five years for each qualified new employee. New employees are vouchered through the Butte Community Employment Center.
On-the-Job Training
Employers may be reimbursed for up to 50% of the trainees’ wages during the training period. A training plan is negotiated between the agency and the employer. The employee is subject to the same rules as any other employee.
Employee Training
Besides on-the-job training, the one-stop is committed to provide a high level of training to meet the needs of any business.
Some of this training is available online and others can be customized to meet the specific needs of the businesses.
Customer Service Training
This eight-hour class has been designed especially for front-line employees and is based on the premise that the power to improve customer service ultimately rests in the hands of employees.
Business Counseling
Butte Community Employment Center is a consortium of agencies that are committed to providing a high level of services to any business in the community. This runs the gamut from hiring and training new employees, to helping acquire small business loans and arranging confidential consultations with professional service providers.
Labor Market Information
The one-stop provides employers/businesses with wage and benefit information as well as labor pool insight.
Business Resource Library
Information on labor law, employee handbooks, financial resources, special government programs, business expansion, etc. is available at the one-stop.
On-Site Consultation
Our business services representatives are prepared to come out and meet individually with businesses to discuss how best we can meet the needs of the individual business. If we don’t have the answer to your problems, we can get you contact with the people who do.
